Making a urinal - horror of horrors! Just when I thought the bathroom make couldn't get any worse than previous years. I always think this is one of the most difficult makes because of the engineering aspect. But from the point of view of getting it to work it was less bad than previous years. The main problem wih this make is producing those big slabs, and making joins and not getting cracks in either. Poor Lucinda fared badly on that front which lost her that precious place in the final. Her fun decorative style just wasn't enough to make up for the technical problems she had. Christine also had technical problems which you could see were likely and she must have breathed a sigh of relief to stay.
Anna dreams of being the potter of the week and I though she might just get it, but AJ - whose making skills are most impressive - pipped her to the post.
So we have one very strong contender in AJ but two capable women who on a good day could give her a run for her money. Let's hope the final make suits all three and the judges really do have a tough decision to make. Fingers crossed for all three.
