I did not expect to enjoy the Throwdown last night particularly, I am not that interested in modelling and previous modelling Throwdowns have not excited me so much. But I loved it! Maybe it was because they were modelling famous pop stars so you could see if they got them right or not.
Sad to see Lee go, and Henry was lucky to stay. We have reached that point in a competition like this where all the contestants are talented and it comes down to who fluffs it on the day.
Shame that having taken part in the show, Dolly didn't come out so well. Hannah made a better fist of it than Lee, but she was lucky that they managed to locate Dolly's blown off cheek.
Alon was a worthy winner in this case I think, but Adam's Ozzy Osbourne was also excellent, and the others with the exception of Lee and Henry put in creditable performances.
The making of the mini instruments as a distraction was a tough one too. The idea that the harp should perhaps have had strings I found laughable. Adam's sax was great - and a good choice as you have a nice straightforward shape to add the keys onto. Poor Sal, she really suffered, it must have been very stressful for her. The good thing about these spot tests is they don't know what is coming so they really have to think on their feet.
Roll on next week and more fun with clay.
