Trained at Camberwell College of Art, Allison uses clay as a canvas for her patterns and images. Her work is graphic in style with a distinctly retro feel to it, harking back to the 50s, 60s and 70s.
She makes ceramic jewellery, particularly cufflinks, as well as vessels which are primarily thrown on the potter’s wheel. There are jugs, mugs and vases as well as pieces that have a more sculptural feel.
She also makes tiles, and small dishes which she combines to make funky wall art.
All Allison’s work is handmade in her studio in Gargrave, near Skipton, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.
